Flood situation at Golaghat's Khumtai worsens: Historic Dhudor Ali threatened

August 3, 2018: As the flood situation worsens in various districts of Assam, the situation of Khumtai under Golaghat district is deteriorating day by day.


Reportedly, more than 15 villages in the region have been submerged by the rising water of Dhansiri River and resulting in a great loss for the locals out there. Locals are taking refuge in relief camps as their homes are being submerged in water whereas animals are in search of highland.
Moreover, the historic Dhudor Ali is also under risk as the rising flood water threatens to break it down.
It may be stated that the in the last four days flood situation has worsened in Khumtai.
As per a report, Golaghat is the worst-affected district with 54,135 people displaced by floods, followed by Sivasagar (17,905) and Lakhimpur (14,052).
