Journalist attacked by members of illegal oil racket mafia in Tripura

June 19, 2018: Illegal oil rackets have been on the rise in Tripura and members of one such racket attacked a journalist in Dharmanagar area of the state on Monday night.

As per reports, the victim namely Suman Debnath had been continuously reporting about the illegal oil rackets running in the state because of which two members of an illegal oil racket attacked him with a sharp weapon. Debnath received serious cut in his throat following which he was admitted at the hospital by some by-passers.

The miscreants also took away his camera and I-card.

Reportedly, Debnath has identified Simin Miya and Mihir Deb as the two assailants who attacked him.

A complaint has been lodged at the police station.
