HDFC Bank launches $30 Million Startup Fund

 Country’s one of the largest private sector Bank HDFC launches a $30 Million fund to help startups grow their business at ease in India.

According to a media report by the TOI, the Bank is working with more than 150 startups currently.

"If there is a right fit with the bank, we will go ahead and fund the startup," said a banker to The Times of India.

HDFC bank has chosen 65 specific branches of the bank in 30 different cities across the country to focus on startups funding.

These cities include Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune and few others like Patna.

The bank had announced last month that through its Centre of Digital Excellence (CODE), it will mentor and handhold fin-tech startups incubated at the country’s top engineering and business schools.

Under the major initiative, Industry Academia, it has initially partnered with over 50 institutes including IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, and IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).
