In a sensational incident of severe human rights violation in Karnataka, a daily wage worker was locked inside a cage with three dogs by a plantation owner in a village in Karnataka’s Madikeri area after the farmer failed to repay Rs 4,000 loan.

The plantation owner, Kishan locked Hareesh (32) with three wild dogs as a punishment for failing to repay the Rs.4000 loan which he was supposed to return him as he had left his job with Kishan.

Reportedly, the victim was severely attacked by the wild dogs.

The victim had lodged a complaint with the local Police station soon after the incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nagappa said that there was some confusion over the attack.

“It is not clear whether he was kept inside the dog cage or if the dogs were let loose on him,” he added.
