World’s one of the preferred Browsers, Chrome by Google, have reportedly been hacked and over 30,000 users have been forced to install irrelevant ads.

Reportedly, a relatively new chrome extension ‘Copyfish’ which is mainly a translation plug-in for Google Chrome and had just over 30,000 users have hijacked where the hackers can drive a great deal of fraudulent ad views in a relatively short time span.

The auto generated click sent the victim to a phishing page that looks similar to a Google support page.

After the password to the Copyfish extension account was typed in the attacker immediately sprangs into action.

The Chrome team had immediately changed the password to lock out the Copyfish bugs.

An updated extension -- one that had been doctored to slam Copyfish users with ads -- was uploaded to the Web Store.
