Wrong depiction in social media: Lakshmi Orang files case against UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Tezpur MP RP Sarma

June 19, 2017- In a major development Lakshmi Orang has filed a case against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityath after her pictures (uploaded from a Facebook account in the name of the UP CM) were depicted as an incident of Congress atrocities on woman in Bengal.
Orang also filed a case against Tezpur MP RP Sarma after the latter shared post.
The case was registered in a Biswanath court.
The post claims that the ‘Hindu woman’ was stripped by the Congress workers in West Bengal for allegedly raising slogans in support of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tracing back to 2007, Laxmi Orang, travelled from Japowari Orang Basti in Sonitpur to Guwahati as a member of the All Assam Adivasi Students’ Association.
She and her supporters were demanding ST status for Adivasi people and enhancement of daily wages of tea garden labourers by Rs 70-200 by the small and major tea gardens in Assam.
However, the situation turned ugly after members of the adivasi students union went on a rampage subsequent to which locales in Guwahati retaliated.
During the incident, Laxmi was chased by a group of boys who stripped her naked before brutally assaulting her.
