700 million dollars deal with US: India gets first artillery guns after Bofors scandal

May 17, 2017: India received its first artillery guns after the Bofors Scandal.
The M-777 ultra-light howitzers arrived in India on morning are part of 145 gun order sealed in a government to government deal with the United States for 700 million dollars.
The air portable guns that arrived today will be used to shore up defences in high altitude areas against China.
As sources report, five guns will be delivered every month till all 145 are inducted by June 2021.
