Shashank Manohar resigns as International Cricket Council Chairman

Mar 15, 2017- In a major development, Shashank Manohar tendered resignation as International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman due to ‘personal reasons’ after merely eight months in office.
Former BCCI Chairman Manohar was elected unopposed to the post in May 2016 becoming the first independent Chairman of ICC.
Manohar in his letter to ICC CEO Dave Richardson stated,“I was elected unopposed as the first independent Chairman of ICC last year. I have tried to do my best and have tried to be fair and impartial in deciding matters in the functioning of the Board and in matters related to Member Boards along with the able support of all Directors."
