State government grants Rs 50 lakh to set up Naamghar in Bengaluru

Jan 9, 2017- Eyeing to spread the messages of Srimanta Sankardev, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday announced a sum of Rs 50 lakh to set up a Naamghar in Bengaluru. The fund was donated to the Srimanta Sankardev trust. It may be mentioned, the state government is also planning to set up a ‘Naamghar’ in New Delhi. According to top sources, CM Sonowal has directed the Resident Commissioner in the national capital to procure land for the purpose.
