BJP ridicules RJD, LJP, SP for forging new alliance
Posted on: 28-03-2009 , 04:: | DY365 Bureau

The BJP on Friday pooh-poohed the formation of a new alliance comprising RJD, LJP and Samajwadi Party. The party maintained that it was a fair weather

alliance, which had no strength, and nor would have long term impact on political situation.

The BJP leaders, who ridiculed RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav for forging the new alliance, were state general secretary Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Rajendra Gupta, Mangal Pandey, Ratnesh Singh and Election Management Committee secretary Anil Sharma.

According to them, Lalu and Paswan were fighting for survival in the state, and, therefore, asked Mulayam Singh Yadav to withdraw his party's candidates from the fray in Bihar. Similarly, the RJD and LJP would not field their candidates in UP, since they had no base there, they added.

They demanded the resignation of both Lalu and Paswan from the Union cabinet on the pattern of PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, who resigned after his party walked out of the UPA. They said that the people of the state, in view of the misrule of Lalu, would not be swayed by his new political moves.

Meanwhile, state BJP spokesman Vinod Narayan Jha said that PM Manmohan Singh, should contest the Lok Sabha elections if he had any faith in political morality. Manmohan Singh has been projected as the prime ministerial candidate of the Congress.
