4th Test: India beat England by an innings and 36 runs; R Ashwin's 12 wicket haul

Dec 12, 2016- Adding another feather to the cap, the Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team registered a thumping win against visitors England defeating them by an innings and 36 runs in the fourth match of the ongoing 5 match Test series. India now leads the series 3-0. Day 5 of the 4th Test started with India in need of 4 wickets while England needed another 49 runs to make the hosts bat again in 2nd innings. Ravichandran Ashwin started the day’s proceedings for India with the ball and took a little time to claim first wicket of the day. All four pending wickets Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid and Jimmy Anderson were scalped by Ashwin as the visitors could manage only 13 runs on the day. Apart from picking up a 12-wicket haul in the match, Ashwin also got the best bowling figures for a spinner at Wankhade stadium. Virat Kohli was named Man of the Match for his career best knock of 235 runs.
