Dec 1, 2015- Rate of non-subsidized cooking gas (LPG) was hiked by Rs 61.50 a cylinder due to global cues on Tuesday.
Oil firms raised the prices of non-subsidized LPG, which consumers buy after exhausting their quota of 12 cylinders of subsidized cooking fuel, by Rs 61.50 per 14.2-kg bottle. Non-subsidized cooking gas (LPG) now costs Rs 606.50 per cylinder in Delhi as against Rs 545 till yesterday.
Officials said the hike in LPG rates was due to firming global rates which has also led to payout on the subsidized cooking gas go up from Rs 127.18 per 14.2-kg cylinder to Rs 188.68.
This is the subsidy that government gives to domestic consumers directly in their bank account to enable them to buy 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg at market rate.
The three fuel retailers -- Indian Oil Corp, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum -- revise jet fuel prices and non-subsidized LPG rates once a month.
