Nov 18, 2015- ULFA Commander in Chief Paresh Barua on Wednesday said that the outfit was not against peace talks. He further said that in a bid to expedite the peace process, the ULFA had constituted the People's Consultative Group on September 8, 2005 to initiate peace talks between the Centre and the outfit itself. However, ULFA C-in-C Barua alleged that the peace talks mediated by the PCG had failed owing to the apathy of the Union Government. Â

Â
while reacting to ULFA leader Anup Chetia's homecoming, the C-in-C ruled out any rift with the outfit’s founder general secretary.Â
Â
In a telephonic conversation with DY 365 he further stated that it was unfortunate that Chetia was once again remanded to CBI custody. Paresh Barua further maintained that contribution of Anup Chetia can never be denied in the outfit’s struggle to establish a sovereign Assam.   Â
