This incident raised considerable anger among the locals. They burnt the Sumo and blocked the road. They even attacked the police for being late in arriving at the spot. Even fire fighters did not escape the public fury.
 Later, Army had to be called in to disperse the crowd. The Kamrup district administration has announced government aid for the victim’s family. Later, the bodies were brought to Guwahati Medical Collage Hospital for post-mortem.
