Raksha Bandhan: Bond of love

Raksha bandhan is one of the most popular festivals in India. Celebrating the divine bod of love between brother & sister.The festival is marked by the tying of a rakhi, or holy thread by the sister on the wrist of her brother. This year the Raksha Bandhan festival will be celebrated on August 24. Ahead of Raksha Bandhan preparations are in full swing across northeastern India.Girls and women can be seen thronging shops displaying a vast collection of bright and colourful designer Rakhis. The Rakhi is a symbol of affection between sisters and brothers.Once the Rakhi is tied, the brother is bound to protect his sister, the belief says.
