Veteran Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Vishwanath were felicitated on their birthdays on Thursday in India's entertainment capital Mumbai and gracing the occasion were legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. Widely regarded as one of the greatest opening batsmen in test match history, Gavaskar set world records during his career for the most runs and most centuries scored by any batsman. He held the record of 34 Test centuries for almost two decades before it was broken by Tendulkar in December 2005. Gundappa Rangnath Viswanath was one of India's finest batsmen throughout the 1970s. He played Test cricket for India from 1969 to 1983, making 91 appearances and scoring over 6,000 runs. He also played in One Day Internationals from 1974 to 1982 including the World Cups of 1975 and 1979. Bachchan congratulated the duo, saying their contribution to the world of cricket was invaluable.Tendulkar took the opportunity to ask Bachchan a question on his acclaimed role of a teacher in the movie 'Black' trying to inspire a visually disabled and hearing impaired girl.
