INIFD is official knowledge partner for Lakme Fashion Week 2010.

This insightful Indian fashion week has been the first in acknowledging the importance of a fashion institute within the industry and its step to betterment of the segment. INIFD has been announced as the first ever knowledge partner of the yet to be seen biggest Lakme Fashion Week ever. The organizer of LFW 2010 announced that the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) has been appointed as their exclusive knowledge partner for the upcoming season on Wednesday 26th August 2009. This insightful Indian fashion week has been the first in acknowledging the importance of a fashion institute within the industry and its step to betterment of the segment. Since its inception, LFW has partnered with key personalities and relevant brand associates to celebrate creativity year after year. LFW strives to bring to national and international audiences the best of fashion and fashion industry in India. This season they have partnered with INIFD as the knowledge partner in order to highlight the importance for the need of niche fashion centric courses and education within the country. After imparting Knowledge to over 1 lac students all across India in last 15 years, Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) is now the 'OFFICIAL KNOWLEDGE PARTNER' to Lakme Fashion Week- India's biggest Fashion event for next 4 seasons starting September 2009. INIFD is proud to be the OFFICIAL KNOWLEDGE PARTNER to LAKME FASHION WEEK the BIGGEST FASHION EVENT OF INDIA, which is now celebrating its 10th year of revolutionizing Fashion in India by providing platform to Indian Designers to showcase their creations to the buyers from all across the world. The Next LAKME FASHION WEEK is slated to be held at Mumbai from 18th to 22nd September 2009.  Anil Khosla- CEO NIFD Ltd. commenting on the association said “Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) is proud to associate with Lakme Fashion Week as official Knowledge Partner. The Best Designer selected from amongst the designers participating in the Emerging Designer Category, will get this prestigious award along with cash prize of Rs1lac.” Lakme Fashion Week in collaboration with INIFD will be organizing an exclusive workshop every season a month prior to Lakme Fashion week at Mumbai to enhance the skills of different sections involved in promoting Fashion in India. This year an exclusive workshop for the MEDIA is being organized on Thursday, 27th August at Grand Hyatt Mumbai where noted International media persons involved in covering Fashion will share their experiences with their Indian counterparts. More over 20 students of INIFD will be permitted every season starting March 2010 to submit their designs for approval to the Board of Lakme Fashion Week & the selected INIFD students will present their creations in GEN NEXT category along with top designers during LAKME FASHION WEEK. While INIFD will be getting a stall along with top designers to display creations of INIFD students at the exhibition area of Lakme Fashion Week, few selected students and faculty of INIFD will be invited to watch the designer shows during Lakme Fashion Week.
